I received some old fabric that was cut in the dresden plate pattern. They measure 18" Can anyone tell me if they think the center should be an 18" circle?

Each blade measures 18" or the assembled plate is 18"?

I would just cut my circle based on the size of the hole in the plate.

That's what I thought, but thought maybe there was a specific size based on the blade size. Thanks for your help
