I made this dress for Vidalia (yeah, I know...I didn't get to name her tho! ;) )

The girl is like her grandmother and is long waisted...since they live in Arizona and I don't, had to do it all by her measurements...and trust the kids to get the right measurements.....they weren't exactly right, because this is supposed to be an empire waisted dress....and well...it's not quite empire!

The kids said she saw the dress and started stripping down right there in the post office lobby so she could put it on!!

    My pretty girl!! :)

Nice dress. I'm finishing up one for my 9 month old granddaughter and then I'm starting a "matching set" for my newest granddaughter (2 months) and her older sister (3 years old). I love sewing for the girls.

She is so adorable and the dress is pretty also !

Anyone that doesn't sew, doesn't understand how to measure, but still looks good on her

    How old is she ?

Very nice. The long distance fitting is tricky, isn't it. Sometimes I get it right, sometimes not quite.

Cute GD and dress looks good... she can wear it for a longer time :D
I understand about "kids" getting the right measurements. When my DGD was about 2, I was making her a coat. I needed her length from center back to knees/midcalf. My dd and sil made every excuse in the book as to why they couldn't get the measurement...everything from "she's asleep, to "can't find the tape measure". I finally just made it...it was too short and when they asked "why I made it so short?" I reminded them that I was begging for them to get her measurement.... It was still cute but, being so short, it didn't provide much warmth.
