Hi all, some of you may have seen my previous threads about the planning of the duvet cover I was making for my Mom. She had a bad stroke last year and is only just managing to start walking again, so she sleeps in a twin bed downstairs at my parent's house.

Once again, thanks to all of you that gave advice and opinions on colours, patterns, thread to use etc etc.

I got it finished on Xmas Eve. Attaching it all to a bought duvet cover was a challenge. The cats did NOT help when I ws trying to lay it all out flat and pin it together on the floor, they chose to use it like a slip 'n' slide whenever I had my back turned, and Kitchen took to stealing the pins out of it which scared me, so I shut them out the room in the end...."MEOW MEOW MEOW let us back in to play!!!"

Finishing the bottom part where the opening and the fasteners are was tricky, I got it done ok but may re-visit it at a later date to get a more tidy finish.

Mom was thrilled with it, and it looks really good on the bed, so overall I am very pleased. An added bonus is that I have some of the materials left over and I am currently making a lap quilt for myself so me and Mom will have things to snuggle under that all came from the same fabric, which I think is a nice idea.

Hope you all had a snuggly Xmas! I thing its cold here but judging by some of the posts you guys have been having some BAD weather.

Those are pretty colors and a great design. You did a nice job. I am sure your mom is thrilled...and I like the idea of something to match for you, too.

That is one very happy Mum there and a beautiful quilt for her to snuggle up in and think of you.

Great that you have fabrics left over to be able to make one for just you.

    Lovely picture.
