Your thread painting is wonderful. The outcome is so artistic. Using a panel is a perfect way to use your skill. I would like to learn how to do this. Thanks for inspiring us in a new direction.

As for 'cheater tops' - who cares as long as the quilter is having fun? The trick to any quilt, no matter what the pattern or the construction, is to make it look inviting to yourself and others."Yourself" always comes first, mind you. I have discovered over time that if I don't like a fabric, it sits, alone, forlorn and unused, in my stash until I decide to donate it to someone who can appreciate it.
