No batting needed if using fleece. Use 2 layers. These are one size and they can be made so they you can use buttons or a elastic piece. I ran out of fleece so will need to get more, butin the meantime, I'm just messing wiht these. I was just playing with these last night when I should have been sleepinjg. You could even use a regular hunk of fabric and put the fleece in for the inside. I may try that too just for fun. Pay day tomorrow so I will go and get some fleece to make some and then wrap them. Have a great day,, going to go take a little nap now as I need to get a little more sleep. Huggies, Fay.. P.S, the ones I've seen in the catalogues that have a place that the bill of a hat comes through is made out a thin fabric or fleece. It looks kind of cheap to me.

Like your ear warmers. Would like to make some. Do you have a pattern?

You just wear it on your head like a head band and you can wear a ball cap or a stocking cap or the hood of a jacket over it but you'll have the flaps to help keep your ears warm. I have pictures and a patterns piece, but I'm still writing it out and will scan the pattern piece in a while. I have more messages to look at. Huggies, Fay
