    I thought you were using real cake mixes to make a quilt....all I could see was a disaster.

    Thanks y'all. The points were perfect because of the Cake Mix pattern. It's like thangles for layer cakes. It's set up paper, light fabric, dark fabric in a sandwich. Once you sew on the lines, the pieces are cut apart, pressed then the paper is removed. What it leaves are perfectly sized hsts. Sewing a scant quarter inch, the seam ends up a few threads from the points. Cleo is my quilt inspector, she sits on every quilt I make whether it is in my lap or on the floor for a photo. We call it cat butt approved, sometimes it's cat flopped approved.

    Beautiful! I have a cake mix also but haven't started it yet. Hopefully soon because it has been awhile since I PP'ed & I do enjoy it.
