Embroidery Designs on Quilt, How to Download on MAC

My friend has a MAC and she bought the PED Basic to download designs only to find Mac will not support it.
Is there a program available to add to the MAC that will support her downloads to PED? Her embroidery machine does not have USB capability.
She's dying to do designs on quilt blocks and it's cheaper to buy and download than buy cards, plus you get only what you want.
