I wanted to make a quilt for my grandson's friend that has been battling osteosarcoma since school ended last June. He has had a such a rough time and has since spent more time in the hospital than at home. After thinking about it all summer and hearing he had subsequently lost his lower leg, I came up with this. It is very bright but I have been told that red and yellow are healing colors. I free motioned my version of a subliminal message in each block, thinking it would give him something to occupy his mind by looking for them. I wrote the usual "Thinking of You", "Get well soon', etc. then also added phrases such as You Rock...... You Are Our Hero..... When Life Gives You Lemons,etc.....When the Going Gets Tough, etc, .....One Day At a Time. etc, etc, etc.
I am hoping it will help change his luck........
