NOW I KNOW WHY I HAVE NO TALENTS....GOD GAVE IT ALL TO YOU!
Your work in all mediums is wonderful. I'm glad you are entering things in the Fair...don't stress over it. Your work is outstanding and everyone who views your work will come away feeling better for having seen it. So what if you don't get a ribbon...my guess is you'll take the WHOLE show and all the ribbons, too. Have fun with the Fair, enjoy the experience and don't sweat the small stuff . Your work SPEAKS LOUDLY and clearly of the incredible talents you possess. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Our fair is coming up, too, and I was thinking about entering a quilt or two. But if you are representative of my competition, I am staying home!! Your work is wonderful!

Ya seriously, it's my first time to, and I don't know what to expect.

I don't think I would have the nerve to put my quilts in a show, like a real quilt show, but I'm taking the plunge with this one.
I only started quilting last year.

My mother does Bunka-japanese embroidery. She's very very good at it, she teaches days a week all over the city and surrounding areas up to 1.5 hrs away. She enters international shows for japanese embroidery and usually takes first or second place in each category she enters.
She also does ribbon embroidery, and knitting.
Oh ya, and weaving. She has several weaving looms in the house, and one that she uses at a hall, which is HUGE for making bed sized woven covers. So, she usually has rugs, runners, placemats, dish cloths, dish towels, and bed covers all woven to enter into these fairs, and not that many people are running in the same catrgories for that, it's kind of a lost art. Or an old lady art, my mother is only 50.

Thanks for all the comments, everyone! I'm excited but nervous too!

I went to a county fair last year and spent lots.........of time in the quilt area... Enter the black and white one... and the colorful top....If I am looking at it like the judges did at the fair, those will be blue ribbon winners......Nice work....
