ERhausfrau's beautiful cancer quilt

Glad to hear from you again. I get my patterns free online. This one is called "Patience Corners" and I know there are other "Patience Corners", but this is the one I liked. It is www.quilt.com. It will say "alphabetical order" and you scroll down, and there it is. Then I used black where the green is and I used my stash to use up in the centers of each block.
I used tonal colors and tried to get the colors close together so the optical illusion would be subtle. I did five across/7down. No sashing, just the border. I used the jeweltones. I used a black and white Jacobean print for the backing.
I am glad you liked it. It is basically very easy to do and I worked it out that I could do one block a day I had it done in a little over a month. What took time was the quilting. I had it done and they used a honey colored thread. Turned out really nice. They are the only ones I have ever had to do the quilting for me. It is cheaper than buying a long arm, believe me. It would cost about $132.00 to have it quilted (I got a deal because it was going to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Walk and they helped me out there.)
Actually, I have another quilt there being quilted. It is for our son and daughter in law for Christmas. It has a border that looks like a rainbow threw up. It is a batik. The quilt itself is a Sampler with all kinds of colors in it and "Quilt Yourself" showed me the variegated thread and I just loved it. So I will get it back the middle of November. I will hang it on the line, take a picture and send it off to show. Can't wait to get that one.
Anyhow, there is the website for Patience Corners. It was a block of the month in 1997. This website also lists the patterns size-wise. I like that because I do like the 12" and know that I have the option of doing smaller or larger blocks different than the 12". Got that????
Thanks for the inquiry. Edie

You know, seeing that pattern, I probably would not have envisioned how great it would turn out. Great job!

Thanks, Moonpi, for posting the directions. :D
You should submit a pic of your finished quilt.
The picture of the block on the website just doesn't do justice to how the quilt looks when it is all put together. But, the directions look fairly clear and straight forward!
