Have you seen the tv program about hoarders? It is incredible, but do believe it is a treatable psychological problem. Most of those hoarders don't think they have a problem.

When we were house-hunting our agent took us to one that was in "move in" condition- spotless, immaculate etc. The exterior was beautiful and we were excited. She opened the front door and the odor of cat urine was horrible. We didn't even go in. GROSS

You're absolutely correct. It IS a psych disorder and treatable. I thought I may be one until I watched the show. I'm a bit borderline in the fabric department though and I don't want treatment :D :D

It beat anything this white boy had ever seen!!!

But I did not show everything that came in the tins for $3. I had several new packages of elastic band in several sizes, about 2 lbs of pins loose in the bottom, several pair of cheap scissors, razor blades, and about 200 or so Buttons.

But what I was really wanting was the Singer oil and the old spools of thread to add to my collection. I did not know the Spool Holder was in the mix until I emptied the tin and it has a Singer part number stamped on the bottom. :-D

So I am fixing to go hit a few thrift stores and see what they have today!!

    Billy,

also check out the Goodwill stores, I was at one last year and they had 4 old sewing machines in cabinets dirt cheap, but didn't have a way to get them home in car and I was 3 hours from home

I know what you mean craftybear. I saw a beautiful Singer in it's cabinet in excellent condition. It was only $20.00 and I didn't have a way to get it home. That was over a year ago and it still haunts me. haha

I do watch hoarders and it sounds like that 2nd house belonged to one. My hubby teases me that i'm one but it's only a joke. The only thing I hoard is my smaller clothes. One day I'm gonna fit in them! haha
