I made these yesterday out of an antique goose down feather bed that had belonged to a friend's mother. Now to make monogrammed shams to put over them.

I love feather pillows .... though you have me wondering what makes these European? .... were the geese from the continent?

Seriously .... please do tell what's the European slant on this?
    Please? and Thanks!

The square shape and certain size make them "European". It's just a term from the domain of bed linens.

In Europe (at least the German-speaking areas) this is the shape of the pillows. Very nice!

One of my best friends is from Heidelberg, Germany and I loved the pillows on her guest bed. A friend in Mississippi said she would share an antique feather bed her grandmother made with me, and I took advantage of it. The geese were southern domestic geese. :) The pillows are 26" square and quite plump. Thanks for the kind words. Sure wish I had tidied up a bit before I snapped the picture though. Ha.

Hi and welcome to the board from Iowa. I love your pillows and look forward to seeing the shams you create as well (smile). Thanks for sharing.
