Mary Q C - I have been trying to resist pulling all those strips out of the garbage, but now that I know I could make a rug out of them, I may not be able to!!!! What needle and thread do you use to sew through the rope wrapped with fabric?

quilterpat- I was given the pattern for block of the month at my quilt guild (and was lucky enough to win 17 blocks!), but I believe it came from quilter's cache and is called mini bowtie.

Boston1954 - Great idea, but I would hate to lure the birds to my yard with the two cats I have!

I'll attach some pictures of wips.

You can make fun of me too. You will be in good company. You have beautiful trash!!!

Now I see I have been throwing away usable tiny little pieces. Will start saving them now. Love the bowtie and all your colors are great.

I will work on a tutorial. It is really simple. The hard part is keeping it flat. If it doesn't stay flat, I turn them into a basket. :)
