Every Good and Perfect Gift, #4
We started making our graduating high-school Seniors quilts to commemorate moving on to the next phase of their life.* Graduate #4 finished her GED and is mom to two adorable little girls. Heather plans to study landscape design so I looked for fabrics with the idea of water, sunlight, plants, sunset (the pink) that would appeal to her girls and make them want to snuggle up with mommy.
I had seen a Kaffe Fassett quilt in a diamond pattern I wanted to try, (I’m going through a Kaffe Fassett phase, I do believe). On account of not doing enough study, the diamonds in Heather’s quilt ended up fairly small but (IMO) it’s still beautiful.
A note on the backing fabric –we select backing fabric that stands on its own in terms of appeal in the event the graduate wants to change it up. The quilts are reversible in that regard.
*2012’s theme was “Every Good and Perfect Gift” – the gift being the graduate. Not the quilt. (grin)
Thanks for looking!
