So..I'm thinking that with you as inspiration, maybe, just maybe I can do one close to what I envision..maybe making the color a little more like yours... Great job, thanks for sharing it and your story!
Pat...you are a MUCH better quilter than poor me...I am sure it will be a breeze for you. I say go for it!

Well, Verna, you got me beat then, there was no screaming or crying, or cussing for that matter...just a big frown, some sweat and pure frustration and lack of control to stop...lol. Glad you got yours finished, and yes, I won 't part with that!

Brightstar, just go for it!! By all means starch, starch, starch to make this pattern. Remember you are working with tons of bias pieces, so just handle with care and use an exact 1/4" and it'll work out!!
I second that..go for it, I will cheer you on.

My mom used to tell me that we are always the hardest on ourselves. I think you should be patting your back for undertaking this job and how beautiful it turned out. And give hubby a pat on his back too for being so supportive of you :)

I have made 3 lone star quilts. I used the strip method on the last one and it was a lot easier. Just make sure you always use the same ruler when cutting. Long story but I didn't and had to redo some of the strips. Your quilt is beautiful. You did a good job and I love the colors!
