    I am not sure what you mean by "extra". There is always lint,from fabric, I clean it regularly, but there is not more lint....I use a synthetic fiber thread in the bobbin so if any thing there is less lint...

    I have a small stash of variegated crochet thread gleaned from the thrift store [my favorite shopping place]. I think I will experiment with it next....maybe some bobbin work...ah the fun continues...

    That is not a zipper, that is a belt and it is how I found it at the thrift shop. All I did is cut it and use rivets to attach it to some d rings.

    I started with two 16x16 squares but with squaring up the bottom and top it comes off more as a rectangle. It is a roomy purse, I don't carry a lot of stuff but I do have two zipper bags plus a wallet. I like to keep it organized and I have to do something with all those zipper bags.....
    making small zipper bags is kind of like a refresher, using up some small scraps, between larger projects that take longer to make.

    Nope...it I used a leftover synthetic baby yarn found at most chain stores...
