The top on is absolutely spectacular!! You deserved that ribbon for sure. The bottom one jus makes me smile. I love the way you added the flag holder to his belt. What a great quilt!

Congratulations, and what an honor!! I do love Monty. I can see him being a class project for a group of teens. And he's much better looking than ol' Uncle Sam.

Now there's a compliment ... that he outdoes the American Uncle Sam!
    Thank you!
I kind of float between the fun and whimsical to the classic traditionals.

Hooray for you, QuiltE!!! I like how you did the maple leaf block in red and placed it dead center in the quilt. (My FWS top is still in the "to be sandwiched and quilted" box.) Monty the Mountie is pretty darn cute.

Thanks Weezie ... your FWS is so stunning, so please get it finished up, so we can oooh and aaaah some more. I liked how you floated your quilt in a different fabric for the setting triangles, and loved the colour too! Of course, I had to do that Maple Leaf block in Canadian red. My plan wasn't for it to be front and centre, but when doing the placement, it just seemed to work best there, along with the 4-H block below it. (Maple Leaf was one of the FWS blocks, and 4-H was my own block design that I wanted to include)

Your FWS quilt is simply gorgeous. How long did it take you to piece that quilt?
I can see why you received first place.
