    Thank you so much! I started quilting about 8 years ago, but took a while longer to get comfortable with free-motion quilting. Probably been doing that about 5 years, or so.

    I didn't follow a pattern for either. I can tell you that I used 2 1/2" strips for the rail fence/chevron runner. I used 6" squares to make each pair of half-square triangles, and pieced a 2 1/2" border.
