    No fabric left over, except for a 2 inch strip, WOF It was a thrift store find.

    Thanks to all for the helpful comments, especially for the suggestion of using a narrow rust border. I will be taking it to the fabric store to find the 'just right' combo for the borders. More after I get it all together, but meanwhile, back at the farm, 4 others in line ahead of it.

    This turned out really great! And I love the layout, reminds me of overlaying scales. I agree with the other comments; a thin rust colored border followed by a wider blue border would finish your quilt off nicely!

    Love what you have done!! I'm putting this at the top of my to do list! Beautiful! I agree with Lori S-a thin rust & the blue is great complement for the original fabric! Great job!

    I like the blue border but quilters choice rule always applies. You certainly thought out of the Box. I'm not sure my brain would have ever thought of this. It's beautiful. What size will you end up with?
