Look at the flat part the bed of the machine. On the 222 it comes apart in two pieces. Also there is a little number plate under the oval Singer emblem on the front of the machine. It should say 222 or 221. There may also be a letter or number after the model number. Good luck!
I did an inquiry a few months back at a Singer's dealers and for a top notched "Featherweight" the dealer is asking any where from $375 to $450, depending on their condition,
