So a couple days after our friend's wedding, we all went out to the Ferryland Lighthouse along the Southern Shore for their spectacular picnics along the coastline. You park your car then hike out to the lighthouse (about a 20-30minute hike if that). You order your picnic in the lighthouse and the people there give you a flag and a picnic blanket. You choose anywhere you wish along the coastline around the lighthouse to set up your picnic blanket and then they bring down your beautiful picnic in a basket. We had homemade curry and raisin chicken sandwiches on homemade multigrain bread, a orzo and veggie salad, homemade chocolate cake and fresh squeezed lemonade!! Oh and then we got to watch a free show of about a dozen humpback whales breaching COMPLETELY out of the water and froclicking in the sunshine!

Here are a few photos from our trip out to the lighthouse last Saturday!! We went there last year, and we want to go again before the summer is over. We just love it there!

Friends of the newly married couple. Dennis and Lauren are to the left of the photo. oh and those toes in the left of the photo are mine!!! I'm just lying back enjoying the sound of the waves and sunning myself!

Me just relaxing after a fantastic picnic...

ahhh times are tough aren't they!

That is so awesome! I want to come. My dad says we are in the heart of fishing country here...it's 100 miles in any direction to find water. :) :)

Love the pictures, but I'm jealous. Like you, I love the sound of the water!

I'm learning a little bit about Newfoundland from this book, Wilfred Grenwell; Fisher of Men. Very interesting. The people are top-notch stock in my opinion.
