    I love the addition of the rockets to the lone star and your colors are fabulous!

    Your own design or did you have a pattern, the center looks like the Lone Star block. Love it. My son would probably like it but in more subdued colors.

    I found this quilt pattern with the rocket additions in a book called Lone Star Quilts & Beyond by Jan Krentz. I think Jan is her first name. This version was called Summer Salsa in the book. I checked the book out of the library a few years ago & copied a picture of this quilt. Searching through my small collection of patterns in Feb I ran across it & once again checked out the book. She has good instructions on how to cut & sew the blocks, plus pattern pieces. The book is also on Amazon. The corner blocks were the fussiest to cut & sew, but the results are worth it.

    Yes, it certainly was! I also starched& blocked for the first time for this quilt. I learned a lot from it, mainly how not to put it together! If I do another Lone Star, I’ll construct it in another way.
