Default Finally done. Garden Trellis quilt and coordinating curtains.

Well finally got it done. Put up the valances today . I wanted them up at least for a little while. My Christmas present this year was finding out I am going to be packing again for the next few months. April 1 I will be moving Back to Ga. oy vey.
I wanted to see this up for a little while anyway.
The curtain rods I had to work around and I know the curtains would have been better a little wider but all in all I am pretty ok with the way it all came out.

the original one I saw had full 5 petal flowers . I wanted something simpler. I thought , for me , it looked a little to "country" .. Thus the buds.

Things I would have done differently. I would have finished the center and quilted it before adding the border. Then I could have gotten the pretty viney quilting on it that I wanted. All in one piece it was too heavy.
I used the applique method of the fusible interfacing for the buds and leaves I thought it was a little to thick and the vines were made with bias tubing. Nope wouldn't do that again either.
The vines on the valance are raw edge applique and I know I couldn't do that on the quilt. I used Misty Fuse for the very first time and I am in love with it. I cut the vine part on the bias after putting the Misty Fuse on the back of the fabric and it still was easy to curve and stretch with no issues.
I also invested in a Goddess Sheet , the 17 inch size and I absolutely love it. Well worth the money.

Very pretty! Too bad you can't enjoy them up for long - but maybe they'll work where you are going?

Lovely! I bought this pattern book several years back and look at it from time to time--It is beyond my level for now but hope to improve enough to give this a try. Your work is inspiring me!
