    Yes when you said the quilt was hard, I knew it was emotionally. It will be a great memory and also something to throw around the shoulders when his Father's comfort is needed.

    The quilt is beautiful. I am sorry for all of what you and the family have gone through. My son also lost his Father at 10 years of age. It just shouldn't happen. At least there was something you could do to help the young man.

    This was my first memory quilt as well (though I've made other quilts with recycled clothing). It has both tee shirts and woven shirts (the bright green and the red and grey stripes are tee shirts). I backed the tee shirts with a lightweight interfacing. It made my needle skip some, though, either the fact that they were knits or the fact that they had the interfacing, I don't know. Since then I've talked to someone who does tee shirt quilts more, and they use a different interfacing, I can't remember what it was called.
