Finally Finished My Bargello
I made this quilt for someone I worked with who recently retired. I took my inspiration from two photos he had in his office. One was of the redrock in Southern Utah. The other was of a trip to Machu Pichu and the rain forests of Peru. Redrock on the front and the backing is a batik floral. Hope he likes it. The quilting was done by my LAQ. And it really isn't wonky. No matter how I hung it on the clothesline the bottom always looked narrower. Maybe it has something to do with my camera angle or the waves of the Bargello.

That's usually a problem for me too. For this one I used my inspiration photo and chose fabric in the same color range. It was fun to make and I may do another one someday.

I've changed the photo. This is a geologic formation in Utah back country. Only a limited number of people are able to hike in each year and you have to make your reservations in advance. In the new photo you can get an idea of the scale from the person standing in the foreground.
