Finally got to trim and add the binding to the front yesterday. As it's such a large and heavy quilt I decided to move the ironing board closer to the cutting table which is 4x8. I glue my binding to the quilt using Elmer's Glue as it's washable. Then I go to the machine and stitch it down. This eliminates all those straight pins pricking me and putting blood on my quilt. It was still difficult to turn the quilt at each corner while gluing but then when I went to stitch it down, I put my little Brother machine to one end and since I'm not using my batting pole at the other end I decided to try something I read somewhere where they made a frame to hang their quilts while quilting on a regular machine keeping the weight of the quilt from dragging. I have heavy duty clamps on my pole so decided to try it out with the quilt. I clamped the 2 farthest ends up which kept a lot of the weight off while I stitched. It's not perfect but sure made it a lot easier for me to stitch the binding down. Here's a photo of how it's rigged up. Hopefully the photo will come thru.
