I have the same panel which I purchased at least about seven years ago for around two dollars. Love how you used it, thanks for the idea.

I made a star using my photo program. Then I printed one on freezer paper, cut it out and ironed it on the block. I stitched around the shape using my dual feed on my Pfaff. Then I removed the freezer paper and stitched inside the shape again. I have done this with many geometric shapes. Similar to using a stencil but I can make any shape I want, any size and I can even skew it if I want a wonky star, etc.

I say fabulous. I'm still working on (FMQ) making mine look that good. lol (I know, lots and lots of practice.) I truly believe, that some just have the artistic talent that comes natural. I think you got it! By the way, adorable baby quilt.
