    sorry that I haven't replied before now. I forget to go back to things I've posted sometimes. For the deer panel, when I cut it into nine window panes, I put the panes on my design wall with the strips for the window around it to be sure all fit correctly. What I found was that the deers' ears ended up in a different window pane from their heads. Which looked really funny. I had to do some trimming of those panes to get rid of the out of place ears. Now, if I had used a thinner strip, instead of the two inch ones, I probably wouldn't have had to do all that. But I liked the look of the thicker strips. I was willing to give up an ear to get the total effect of a cabin window. I know MSQC has a tutorial on this same panel, but they cut theirs into 15 panes. I knew I'd never get it right with so many!

    It's not really bargello. I cut strips from a border print and just staggered them and used a coordinating solid for the ends. I think if I do it again, I'll put the solid colors in the middle to provide more movement. It was an experiment.
