    IMHO there is nothing more special than a personalized quilt, and hers is beautiful.

    Here is a link to the free pattern I used for inspiration. I used a layer cake and cut the squares to 9.5" x 9.5" (unfinished) size. The border was 5" finished. I didn't cut the white horizontal sashings pieces. Instead it was one sashing cut lengthwise. I was able to get them sewn so the intersections matched. It may have been easier to cut the individual sashing pieces after all.

    Very pretty quilt and love the fabrics you used. I always makes us happy to put a smile on the recipient of a beautiful quilt like yours. Also, thank you for the link to the pattern as I just printed it out and it looks like fun to make.
