    Default Finished four table runners from neckties

    An old friend asked me to make something for her and three step kids from her deceased husbands neckties. We searched ideas and came up with this..I added my own little touches..like using a few of the narrow points for fillers..machine appliquéd the ties to fleece batting, added backing and quilted between and around the ties

    That's a great idea! Are the ties mainly silk or some other fabric, and did you wash them first? I always thought ties would be hard to work with because they're all bias and many of them are silk.
