Okay Deb, it's unanimous! Nobody wants you to eat on that quilt. Guess you will just have to send it my way so I can protect it from the food elements!

    Hi, Deb ... beautiful quilt!!

I would love to come and picnic on it with you ... I will be very careful.

You are such a speedy and accomplished quilter. I am still looking at my swap fabric and your quilt is all done and ready to enjoy.

Is this the pattern you used to design this ... ?

(Is it okay to post links on this forum?)

It is a wonderful pattern for this type of fabric. Good idea to make the blocks larger.

    Nice work! :D Pat

YEAH! PAT!! Glad to see you here :D :D :D
Yes, that's the right pattern... I'm not good at following patterns, I always deviate from them. I wanted a 12" block so I changed it but I think the 10" would be better for the size pieces we have from the swap. By the time I got to the border, I felt it would make it too busy so I just ended with the navy.
My quilt is 66" square which is perfect for picnics ... NO MUSTARD ALLOWED!
I had a bunch of pieces cut out ready for the other border but I've decided on cutting them up to squares and maybe making a table runner or tote ... something for next summer.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.... I made this one with picnics in mind so I wont be broken hearted if a little food ends up on it. Everything in it was prewashed and I used mostly dark colors. I may add a little extra quilting to strengthen it ...to hold up in my washer.

Im working on one more scrap quilt for the outdoors. A camping quilt. My grandmother always made "utility" quilts, which were tied... These were just squares of fabric sewn in strips then rows. It just doesnt feel like a camping trip without a big colorful quilt for cool evenings. This will have to be another DURABLE quilt. I have a few old wool blankets that are showing wear and thought about putting one of these in as the batting. I might have to tie it like grandma did... Im going to start to quilt it but if it's too thick, I'll tie it.
