Thank you Sandra in Minnesota! I hope I love quilting as much as I do sewing. I have a lot to learn and I'm grateful to all you quilters out there for the encouragement and advice!

I have purchased my batting from Joanns off the bolt and the brand is Warm and White. The package says to quilt no more than 10" apart. I will probably quilt much closer than that with my sewing machine.

You did a great job. We are always very hard on ourselves. You could do an X in the squares. Have fun.

Nice job, especially for a first quilt. You have a lot of flexibility with W&N batting. Does your machine have any decorative stitches or a long wavy line. That could be pretty. If it is only straight stitch, then you have a choice of sticking with the straight lines of your blocks, maybe 1/2 inside on each block or do a diagonal stitch putting an X across each block. Either should be fairly easy to do.

Your quilt is beautiful. Any puckers you're concerned about won't be noticed once it's quilted, bound and washed. I like the idea of quilting on the diagonal through the blocks, then again halfway between. It will make a nice texture. Mark it if needed with a ruler and a wash away marker. I think this was a great first project and one you'll enjoy snuggling under.

You have made an exceptionally fine first quilt. Please don't be so critical of yourself. Stitch in the ditch would be good. So would a meander. My preference would be a quilted flower in each square. You tube has lots of tuts. They could probably help you.
