    The quilt is beautiful. Too bad there wasn't an easier way to assemble the quilt block. I avoid Y-seams whenever possible, but sometimes it has to be. So you said a few bad words while working on the quilt, I'm sure your son really appreciated your efforts.

    The term "y-seam" is still a Bad Word in my vocabulary. I was looking at a pattern yesterday and saw the word y-seam and flipped the page. Nice job with the y-seams, color choices, and quilt.

    Your quilt is lovely and you did an excellent job with the Y seams but it could be made easily without the Y seams by making rectangles for the tulips and snowballing the corners or either using half square triangle units.

    Beautiful quilt. Aren't you glad you stuck with it instead of accepting defeat? You have mastered a skill (Y-seams) that others shy away from and the result is great.
