    This is wonderful!! It had to take a long time to do this, and it is wonderful and thoughtful for you to do this for them. As far as the Pillow Shams, it seems like your blocks are almost 19" squares. I would make two blocks for each sham. Lay it on a king-sized pillow. Leave plenty of room for overlap. Then you can add some colored borders if you need them to be larger. Then just cut two pieces of white fabric for the back. Leaving an opening between the two pieces in the center, which should be folded a few inches inside before sewing. Sew right sides together, trim corners and turn right side out. You should have 2 beautiful shams!
