I get lots of sewing done on football Sundays!! I love watching/listening to the games while I sew and cut and iron. hehehe

I finished my very first wall hanging and I think I like it. I'm not to sure about my stipple quilting in the center area.... not only is it the first time I stippled, but I also used metallic gold thread! In the blue borders and brown corners I used matching threads, which is more normal to me.

The back has a pieced border because I wanted the binding to have the pieced look.

And I started putting together my son's coveted Checkerboard Quilt! :D I'll put the progress I've made to this point, followed by the EQ5 version of the finished project.

Your meandering look great, it does take time to get the hang of it. Ask me how I know LOL.

    Very pretty!

You are doing a great job on the checkerboard--I am afraid I would go blind with it!! The wall hanging is wonderful. I think you did a really good job quilting it!

I know, that checkerboard IS a little blinding. I can't remember if I told the story behind that one or not. But my son is 9, turning 10 in January. I told him I am making him a quilt, what colors and pattern would he like. He wanted checkerboard right from the start, and I spent about a week trying to dissuade him and choose something more traditional.... something PRETTIER!!! He finally caved into my pressure and just said to make whatever I wanted.

Well THAT made me feel terrible. LOL!!!!!!! So I immediately designed his quilt in EQ5 and added 2 borders and showed him... his face lit up and said "YES!" So it no longer matters that *I* don't like it. HE loves it. hehehehe
