    I use the flange binding on all of my quilts now. It is all machine sewed, and I think it even adds a design detail. I have also heard it called magic binding. It took me a couple of quilts to really get comfortable with it, but now I wonder why I ever did bindings any other way.
    I was thinking about the flange as being very easy to deal with to machine stitch the binding down. I do like the looks of the flange as an added design feature.

    Wow & Wow! What beautiful quilts! The 2 recipients of these beauties are going to be in awe! There are a lot of great videos & tutes out there for machine binding. I have always done them by machine because I can't hand sew very good. I never had the desire to hand sew so I never learned how.
