You all have probably heard about the fires in Texas. I made this for a volunteer fire department to use as a fundraiser. I actually finished it 9-11-2011. Fitting isn't it? Hope you like it!

THANK YOU! It is a beautiful quilt and a great tribute to Fire fighters everywhere! I am sure it will bring alot of good to the department. My heart goes out to those who serve.

Did you draw the center medallion yourself or did you use a pattern?

    Nice job on the quilt!

The fireman I spoke to when planning to do this told me to search for maltese crosses. I found several I liked, chose one that did not say copywrited and then used that as a springboard for minimal changes to the design. Then I took it to a copy store and had it blown up. I would have loved to put the fire department's name on it but was afraid it would prevent someone from another dept's participation.
