One of your fabrics should be a skinny stripe for two of the spaces in the diamond section. I sometimes had # 1 & 3 be the same fabric and sometimes # 3 & 4. Also in the triangles, # 6 is the stripe fabric. I also found it very helpful to preview my fabric, by cutting them out and glued them to a paper, just to make sure I'd get the effect I wanted, before going to all the effort of piecing the sections and not liking how they turned out. Then I used my hinged mirror to duplicate the 1/8 circle to see what the whole circle would look like. Hope this helps.

Well, folks, I think I've finished fmq the star circles. Now to the background. So far I'm quite pleased with it.

Yesterday, I started the fmq for the background. I finally decided on a spiral pattern, which duplicates the subtle print in the background fabric and the theme for the whole quilt. The title of the quilt will be " Ooooh An Eight Break Snail Shell". I get to work on it more today, since my boss called me last night and told me I don't have to come in today. I got about 1/6 done yesterday.
