What size is your square? If it's 12 1/2, center a 12 /12 ruler over the square, placing the ruler over the square. Try to line up the diagonal seams with the diagonal mark on the ruler at the same time.

I just love this pinwheel for sure, scared to try but think I will on old mtl. like u did. I saw this done on Fons & P. and just loved it. They showed an easy way to pt tog. and have even on all sides, etc. Go to their site and look it up and instructions. Nice work ! I have a UFO that shape of pinwheel ! takes lots of concentration.. watch out for the direction of fabrics !!
