Very, very cute and well-done! Good for you!
I have a small project, well a block, that I am trying, trying, trying to do for quilt group next week. It's an option but one of the members will be giving out a series of 12 PP bird patterns throughout the year and I really want to do them.
So far I've had a lesson (on a different pattern, which I was able to do and make into a pot holder) from another member, have checked lots of tutorials on U-Tube, have paid $20 for a Craftsy class, and gone to the LQS for help and still cannot, for the life of me, get past the first two pieces. Quilt group meets next week so I'm going to keep working on it until then. If I haven't figured it out, I'll just get more help there.
I'm also going to look for a book at the library. This first pattern is a hummingbird and the pieces are really tiny. Piece #2 is a 3/8" triangle! And I haven't even begun to try the beak, which is about 1/16" at the widest part! Yikes! I'd probably give up if 1) I wasn't so stubborn and 2) didn't think these blocks would make the perfect wall hanging over the guest room bed. I'm making a blue and white log cabin quilt for the bed in there and the birds on the background sky print I have would be really pretty - but not if I can't get them done!
All that being said, again, your quilt is adorable! And to think you did it all on your own. I'm impressed.
