    I really love how this is coming out too. Did you quilt this quilt and then add the applique? Huh... interesting.

    Some details since several of you have asked. I couched the vine down with invisible thread and a zig zag stitch. The vine is three strands of three shades of brown pearl cotton held together and twisted some to give it color variations. The leaves are fused and raw edge appliqued with smoke invisible thread. I do the vein in each leaf and then around the outside with a straight stitch. I did the quilting before I started the applique. I knew I wanted a cross hatch behind the leaves and flowers and I didn't want to do a jillion stops and starts.

    This may have started out as somebody else's pattern but it's mostly mine now.

    The batting in the background is Quilter's Dream poly.
