I asked a friend if she might have some scraps that I could use to make a small crib quilt for my grandchild. I am just getting back into quilting, so I had no stash. She shocked me by giving me "scraps" of a quilt she had made, with already fused appliques. I wasn't used to using such bright colors for a baby quilt, but it forced me to try something new. I had enough left to make a doll quilt for the new granddaughter. I was worried about the bright colors, but my daughter loved it! It was machine-pieced and hand-quilted. What an incredible friend I have! What great friendships I am forming here on this site!

I love these! I have heard brights are much better for babies than pastels. Their young eyes can better focus on sharp contrasts which isn't as evident to them in pastels. I think these crayon brights make wonderful baby/childrens quilts.
