    Oh this was an easy one--alternating for sure!! It's beautiful and holy cow is she going to love it!!

    I'd go with no border because it has that modern look--or a narrow dark gray one. And I'd quilt it with a stipple in medium gray thread.

    How's that? :wink:

    I love the alternating layout:D :D :D I think a dark border would make the reds and whites stand out...

    Since I have pretty much zero experience FMQ, except for some practice, I was thinking either meander or long wavy lines; another idea I had was to go round and round (but square!) in each block. That might be harder than meandering.

    Thanks, I sure hope she loves it! And thanks for the suggestions, I like the idea of the gray thread.
