I have a plan (just in my mind...) which patterns I want to use and how to arrange them. For the first pattern ("flat iron") I have a selfmade half template for the oval shape and a small template for the rose at the bottom. The feathers and spirals are quilted free hand with almost no markings. The leaf in the second picture and the fern in the third are selfmade templates as well. The double lines are done freehand.
I like it a lot do quilt with only a few markings, that gives me plenty of freedom for designing during the process of quilting.
What is "needlemarking"? I usually lightly trace a pattern from a template & by the time the quilt is finished, the lines hardly show. Also, what size needle to you use?
I am in awe of your talent. Thanks so much for sharing
One more question - what type of frame/hoop, etc. do you use?
