The train blocks are just so cute. I have a grandson coming soon and I bet he would just love a train quilt. I hadn't ever seen this block design before. Where is it from?
p.s.----thanks, Lin, for your suggestions for making square blocks equal--I am a beginner, too, and wondered just what you do......(and, it makes me feel better and that everyone else's blocks don't always come out exactly the same size----I thought it was just me

Oh, no! It's never just you Joan. No matter how hard I try, I don't think I ever get two blocks exactly the same. :D

have done this many times when using paper pieced blocks that are different sizes but i want to mix them in the same quilt.
the thing about this stuff is that you can call it artistic license  nobody will call the quilt police
    doncha love it???
nanabirdmo, I do this to. My sisters and I call them coping strips as they do help us cope with our imperfections!

Kyiav10, your blocks look great. Obviously the little red one without it's blue corners is carrying something different or is a different type of train car. :-) Keep on building 'em. They'll start going faster with a little practice. Most importantly, have fun with it. Keep us posted on your progress.

    lin, nanabirdmo & Yvonne

Thank you for letting us in on all the "problems" and their fixers. As noted before by others, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who has these troubles AND judging by the quilts posted by you three, that there is no reason to think anyone would think it wasn't supposed to look that way!
