    The very first quilt that I ever did on my longarm was a simple meander...your first effort is extremely impressive! If you can do this kind of work now, you'll be a master of your machine in no time. Well done!

    Thanks everyone for your kind remarks. To answer the questions, yes, it is all freehand. I just did a freehand feather with echoing and swirls and pinwheels and some grasslike thingys for fill. I had a good time doing it and am excited to do more. I find I really like this part of quilting much more than piecing.
