Reminds me of my first quilt. Love the way you offset the columns.

You've come to the right place. I'm the only person I know that quilts, so finding this quilting board has been great!
I am so unfamiliar with some terms that I have to Google them, which leads to other bits of knowledge.

Your quilt is looking great. My first was similar but it was 2" squares & I alternated solid squares & print squares. I pieced & quilted it by hand (all straight stitching). I still have it but it is falling apart everywhere. I didn't know anything about 1/4" seams & that was back in the 60's when we didn't have rotary cutters. Your colors are great. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt.

How exciting this has to be for you! It is so pretty and so colorful! First quilts are just as you said, learning. I have been quilting now for around 30 years and still learning new stuff and it keeps quilting so exciting.
