    I have an Aunt Jemima doll in my dining room/kitchen that I love. it means warm memories for me. nothing more. very cute!

    I like it very much. I can't see a thing wrong with stitching the binding by machile. I do it all of the time. You quilt by machine, why not sew the binding down by machine?

    Thank you all very much. I didnt follow a pattern for the quilt, not consciously anyway!
    I adore gollies, they're so cute. I've had an extraordinarily busy time with family stuff this past week but hope to get it started by the Weekend. I also have an African themed quilt to do for my youngest to help fundraise for a trip she and eleven of her classmates are making to Botswana, Zambia and Namibia next summer to undertake some challenging outdoor activities as well as to help build a community school. The fabric range I've chosen for that project is 'Celebrating Women'. I need to put a good bit of thought into that but can always mull over it while having fun with the golly fabric.
