    Yes, I did use batting. I tried silk, just to see how it worked, and also because it is very light weight, and the quilt top is extra heavy because of the foundation.

    That came out beautiful! Love, love, love the colors! Reminds me of the fabric in one of my favorite dresses when I was in college.
