    Yes. For free motion quilting you put on a darning foot and lower the feed dogs. Then you move the quilt around. You can also quilt using a walking foot and don't lower the feed dogs. This method is good for straight line quilting. But I also use it to follow a design. It is slower, but I have more control. And, this is the exact place to ask all the questions you have:-) We love sharing.

    Gorgeous quilt! Love the colors and the pattern. Really excellent job!

    I also FMQ on an old Singer- love love love it!

    OK I am impressed. Did it let you lower the feeddogs.

    Congrats on the freemotion. The more you do the easier it becomes mainly because you relax.
